πŸ”₯ Day 3 – Tuesday, 18 November

  • Pheras (Sacred Rituals - Morning): This is the main wedding ceremony. Traditional or elegant formal attire is recommended. Choose something graceful and comfortable for a heartfelt and spiritual morning.

πŸ“ Add Lucknow to your itinerary:

If time allows, we encourage you to visit Lucknow, a nearby city known for its regal architecture, traditional craftsmanship, and authentic Awadhi cuisine. From kebabs to kormas, Lucknow is a paradise for food lovers!

Let us know your travel dates and interests, and we'll gladly help with personalized recommendations or travel bookings.

India has amazing street food, but it's best to be cautious. We recommend:

  • Eating freshly prepared, hot food
  • Choosing clean and busy stalls
  • Avoiding raw fruits/veggies that are not peeled or boiled

Toilets vary:

  • At the hotel and wedding venues, expect Western-style toilets with toilet paper.
  • In public areas, you might find squat toilets or restrooms without paper.
  • Carrying wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and a small pack of tissues is highly recommended.
  • Tip: Many toilets use a water spray or "bucket and mug" system.

Yes, but it's different from Europe or Ecuador:

  • Sidewalks may be uneven or missing, especially in small towns β€” walk carefully.
  • Be alert with traffic – vehicles don't always stop for pedestrians.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, carry water, and dress modestly in public areas.
  • It's always safer to walk in pairs or groups, especially at night.

India is vibrant, joyful, and full of contrasts, it can feel overwhelming at first!

Here are a few things to be aware of:

  • Crowds and noise – especially in cities and markets
  • Personal space – may feel different than in Western countries
  • Staring – it's common and usually harmless, especially towards foreigners
  • Traffic rules – they exist, but aren't always followed strictly 😊
  • Religious customs – temples require modest clothing and shoes must be removed

Just come with an open mind and curiosity, your experience will be unforgettable.

Please RSVP on the website by September 10.

You can always reach out to Erika or Sarv Shakti directly. For travel and logistics, you can also contact Vijay Shakti Singh.

Getting a SIM card in India is easy. Upon arrival, you can:

  • Get one at the airport (Airtel or Jio counters are common at Delhi Airport)
  • Or visit a mobile store near the hotel with your passport and visa copy

We recommend Airtel or Jio for good coverage and data speed. Plans are affordable – around β‚Ή300–500 (3–6 EUR/USD) for 28 days with unlimited calls and data.

Tip: Let us know if you'd like help getting a SIM on arrival – we're happy to assist!

India uses Indian Rupees (INR). We recommend:

  • Exchanging a small amount of cash at the airport or in your home country before arrival
  • Using ATMs in India (available at the airport and hotel) – Visa & MasterCard work fine
  • Most places accept credit/debit cards, but carry cash for small vendors or markets

Tip: 1 EUR β‰ˆ β‚Ή90–95 | 1 USD β‰ˆ β‚Ή82–85 (as of mid-2025)

We highly recommend traveling in a group, especially between Delhi and Kannauj, as it's more comfortable, safe, and fun!

Let us know what is preference and we can help guide you to arrange group transportation (private cars or a minibus) for all guests who share their travel plans with us.

That's a fantastic idea! Nepal is a short flight or drive away and offers breathtaking scenery and rich culture. Here are some suggestions:

  • From Lucknow (closest major city to Kannauj), you can travel by road or flight to Kathmandu or Lumbini (birthplace of Buddha).
  • Direct flights are also available from Delhi to Kathmandu.

Consider visiting:

  • Kathmandu (cultural sites, temples, and vibrant city life)
  • Pokhara (lakes and views of the Himalayas)
  • Chitwan National Park (for wildlife safaris)

Make sure to check visa requirements for your nationality β€” most visitors can get a visa on arrival in Nepal.
